The Delta Institute

The Delta Institute is designed to build leadership, improve collaborative relationships, increase wholesome experiences through timely ideas and information and develop new aesthetic values worthy of a world class citizen.

Students participating engage in activities planned to recognize the importance of: goal setting and visions, effective communication skills, creative problem solving, listening to others, working with diverse cultures, mobilizing the community for actions, and coalition building. All these activities aim to help the participants learn how to make a difference in the community.

Another component of the Delta Institute is the Internship. The Internship is designed for young adults who have met the basic requirements of the institute and who want to start a business and learn about the business world. Participation in the Internship provides participants the opportunity to view first-hand how decisions are made, what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, how to develop and test a business concept, how to manage and organize a business, how and where to get funding, and how to understand and manage finances. Internships are provided by a variety of business, such as: banks, hospitals, theatres, museums, community management districts and partnerships, and other corporations.
